5. Celebrate CommUniversity Day
Stony Brook has a strong commitment to building an inclusive community for students, employees, faculty and neighbors. It’s a way for us to learn more about each other and the offerings of our many departments and programs. On Saturday, September 22 the University will host its second CommUniversity Day festival, a free campus-wide open house designed to showcase the best of the Stony Brook campus community for the public and to build better campus and community relations. Special events throughout the day will include the traditional duck race, a free ice cream social and an exhibit from the Frank Melville Jr. Library Special Collections — featuring an American Revolutionary War letter authored by George Washington that documents spy activities in nearby Setauket. In the evening, watch the Seawolves take on the Richmond Spiders at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
