Flame Challenge Worldwide Assembly Live

Alan alda

alan aldaThe Flame Challenge Worldwide Assembly is a live-streamed web conference in which students around the world join Alan Alda on Monday, April 24, from 12 pm to 1 pm to discuss the six finalist entries to the sixth annual Flame Challenge.

The student judges of The Flame Challenge take this event very seriously and they can be charmingly unpredictable! The Flame Challenge has partnered with IBM this year to broadcast live from the THINKLab at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY.

The Flame Challenge is an international competition in which scientists answer a technical question in a clear and entertaining way, specifically geared toward an audience of 11-year-olds. After reviewing hundreds of questions submitted by children from around the world, the Alda Center for Communicating Science announced this year’s question: What is Energy?
