Food, football, and fun—the recipe for a great weekend at Stony Brook’s Homecoming and Reunion known as Wolfstock—is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, through Saturday, October 3.
“We’ve decided to change the look and feel of Wolfstock Village,” said Wolfstock Coordinator of Events Susan Abbott. Wolfstock 2009 will feature more inflatables and games for children in a cluster of tents with outdoor seating. It will be more intimate and family-friendly than previous events, with a carousel ride, agility games, balloon figures, a huge slide, an adrenalin-rush sports race, a football toss, bounce house, and carnival booths.
Come out and enjoy the carnival and meet the football team, marching band, and cheerleaders from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the SAC Plaza on Wednesday, September 30. Voting for the king and queen will take place that evening at 7:30 pm in the SAC Auditorium.
On Thursday, October 1, be part of the “Commuter Outreach Series, Homecoming with Wolfie,” from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the South P Parking Lot.
The SAC Ballroom A is the scene of the Student Activities Board End Zone Party from 11:00 pm to 3:00 am on Friday, October 2. Tickets for that event can be purchased at the SAC ticket office.
For alumni, an adult-only Reunion Reception at the Charles B. Wang Center from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm featuring a dinner buffet and live music will jump-start the weekend’s activities Friday night.
The action begins early on Saturday with a complimentary continental breakfast open to all at 9:30 am in the Charles B. Wang Center, followed by a series of mini-lectures there from 10:30 am to 11:45 am on a number of “red hot” topics.
A pre-game tailgate party begins at noon near the north end zone of the LaValle Stadium, but leave time for the Homecoming parade of colorful floats and banners created and constructed by Stony Brook students in the redesigned Wolfstock Village; music by Peat Moss and the Fertilizers just before the game.
A $35 per person ticket for adults and kids 12 and older includes access to the Wolfstock Village, BBQ buffet, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverages, Kids Zone, and a football game pass. For ages 5 to 12 and students, tickets are $10. There is no charge for children under 5. The Seawolves will take on the Presbyterian College Blue Hose at 3:00 pm.
