Upcoming ‘Starry Nights’ Showcases Classical Music and Jazz at Staller Center

Starry Nights, a unique chamber music concert that brings stars of the classical music world to the Staller Center Recital Hall at Stony Brook University, will include a Haydn String Quartet, a Brahms Sextet and a trumpet jazz set on its program, Friday, November 6, at 8 pm.

Starry Nights is a popular chamber music tradition at Staller Center, featuring artists in residence in the Department of Music at Stony Brook University. The concert includes Lawrence Dutton, violist of the renowned Emerson String Quartet; Jennifer Frautschi and Arnaud Sussmann, both acclaimed violinists and winners of Avery Fisher Career Grants; and Thomas Manuel, jazz trumpeter, among others. Professor and cellist Colin Carr is the artistic director of Starry Nights.

Tickets are $36 at www.stallercenter.com or call the Staller Center Box Office at (631) 632-ARTS.

The Box Office is open for sales Monday through Saturday from 12 pm to 6 pm and one hour before performances.
