The Stony Brook Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI-SBU) recently inducted 12 new members and 3 honorary members to the Academy. The newly inducted academic inventors have held patents issued by the US Patent and Trademark Office. With this 15 new members NAI-SBU now has 103 NAI members, including 12 NAI fellows.
New NAI inductees are usually honored at a ceremony during the NAI-SBU’s Annual Meeting held at the Charles B. Wang Center in May. However, this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting has been postponed until next year.
This year’s new inductees are from various departments, including, Anesthesiology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, Mathematics and Statistics, Mechanical Engineering, Microbiology and Immunology, Pathology and Pharmacological Sciences.
