The Zuccaire Gallery presents an online Faculty Exhibition that opens on October 1 and features the work of Stony Brook University’s world-renowned faculty artists. Reckoning presents artwork created in 2020 that expresses a range of individual and collective experiences we are living through and the underlying conditions that have brought us to this crossroads.

In 2020 we are experiencing a pandemic, quarantine, major changes to how we learn, work and live, xenophobia, racial injustice, Black Lives Matter protests, political activism, #MeToo, controversy over monuments, climate change, uncertainty of the future, and more. In light of the challenges the world is facing today, creative responses form a crucial component of expression, activism and hope for the future. Reckoning includes digital media, text pieces, photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, video, mixed reality and sound.
