University Ombudsman Judi Segall will be presenting at a plenary session of the 2013 International Ombudsman Association Conference in Miami, Florida, on Wednesday, April 24, in which academic, government and corporate ombudsmen will examine sector-specific issues and challenges as well as professional best practices. In addition to Stony Brook University’s ombudsman, panel participants include ombudsmen from the National Institutes of Health, the World Bank, Shell Oil and Coca-Cola International.

Later in April, Segall has been asked to participate in the New York State Psychological Association Division of Organizational, Consulting and Work Psychology Conference on “Bullying in and out of the Workplace: Psychological and Legal Perspectives on Prevention, Intervention and Amelioration.” The conference features several esteemed national experts on workplace bullying and organizational culture, including Gary Namie and David Yamada, and is co-sponsored and hosted by the CUNY Dispute Resolution Center at John Jay College.
