National Geographic News Watch has published Unearthing the Story of Madagascar, featuring Distinguished Service Professor David W. Krause from Stony Brook’s Department of Anatomical Sciences. The in-depth Q&A discusses his decade of fieldwork unearthing some of the most complete and well-preserved fossils on the African island of Madagascar.

Krause talks about his top-four finds, the supercontinent Gondwana, and equally important, what he has left behind—the Madagascar Ankizy Fund—an organization Krause founded to help provide education and health care to Malagasy children.
