Staff Member Casey Ellin Needs Campus Community Support

Casey ellin

Casey Ellin, Assistant Director for Intramurals and Sport Clubs Programs, suffered a life-changing accident at Jones Beach in early June, fracturing his C4, C5 and C6 vertebrae. After two life-saving surgeries, he now faces mounting recovery and rehabilitation expenses.

In response to their family crisis, Casey’s sister, Bridget Ellin, has set up Casey’s Recovery Fund. The campus community is urged to visit the website and contribute words of encouragement, professional guidance, or if possible, a monetary contribution, as Casey faces a long and arduous recovery. One hundred percent of the donations received will go directly to Casey and his family to help pay for rehabilitation, ongoing care, and necessary equipment as they make their home handicap-accessible.

Save the Date
The Department of Campus Recreation and SAC/SBU Facilities/Operations will be hosting a fundraiser for Casey on Friday, September 27, at 8 pm in the Student Activities Center Auditorium. More details on this event will follow.
