Conservation pioneer and MacArthur Fellow Carl Safina is the inaugural recipient of the Carl Safina Endowed Research Chair for Nature and Humanity in the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University.
Through his work, The Safina Center at SBU is creating a more knowledgeable constituency for conservation and translating scientific information into language people can understand. Through Safina’s books, other writings, public speaking, PBS television series, Fellows Program and Sustainable Seafood Program, the Center inspires people to make better choices.
