André Gorgenyi has been appointed Senior Director of Planned Giving for University Advancement. Prior to joining Stony Brook University, Gorgenyi served eight years as the Planned Giving and Donor Relations Representative for the Salvation Army in the Boston area, where he raised more than $12 million in legacy and major gifts.
At Stony Brook, Gorgenyi will support the University’s Toll Society donors and their advisors, and develop giving solutions and strategies to maximize legacy donors’ philanthropic goals and intentions.
“With our rich history and dynamic future, planned giving will be an ever important part of our fundraising program,” said Dexter A. Bailey Jr., Executive Director of the Stony Brook Foundation and Vice President for University Advancement. “André is bringing fresh ideas and his training from a noteworthy national program to serve the needs of our donors.”
