Return to Work Phase 5 Extended

The final phase (five) in our Return to Work (RTW) plan has been moved from January 31, 2021 to March 1, 2021 to continue our diligent efforts in protecting our campus and the Seawolf community.

●    Supervisors should ensure that RTW plans are adjusted and staff is notified.
●    Reminder: The guide to assist with communicating RTW department plans and modified campus work rules is available for your use at any time.
●    If and when details/dates change, based on guidance from SUNY, the State, and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), you will be notified.

Increased Testing Frequency for On-Campus Staff

●    Testing for commuter students will now be increased to once per week, and Stony Brook University employees will begin testing weekly as well. This is based on SUNY’s Memorandum of Understanding with UUP, PEF, CSEA, PBANYS, and NYSCOPBA stipulating that employees follow the same COVID testing protocols as students on campus. Management/Confidential (M/C) and Research Foundation (RF) employees must also perform this weekly testing. Testing is mandatory.
●    Testing should be done during the employee’s normal work day/shift and is free for employees.
●    We offer Pooled Saliva Testing at three convenient locations to meet this weekly requirement. The Testing Scheduler Tool makes it easy to identify a convenient testing time for you each week.

Please Remain Diligent in Monitoring CampusClear Reports in SOLAR

●    Reminder: All faculty and staff must complete the COVID-19 daily health self-screening each morning prior to arriving on campus.
●    For faculty and staff currently working from home who plan on returning to campus this spring, please note that the daily CampusClear screenings must be completed for two consecutive weeks before faculty and staff who have been remote may return to campus.
●   Supervisors are responsible for checking that these daily screenings are being completed in SOLAR under the ‘COVID-19 Supervisor Report’.

We recognize that this is a challenging time, and that guidelines and protocols may be adjusted periodically to meet the State, SUNY, and NYSDOH requirements as well as campus needs. While updated regulations may require our supervisory staff to pivot and remain flexible, we are committed to helping the Stony Brook campus community maintain low numbers of COVID cases while also working to help support the safety of our faculty and staff on campus.

Thank you all for your continued support and adaptability as we move forward together into the spring semester and beyond.
