ESPN football analyst Todd McShay, who provides in-depth scouting information on college football players nationwide, recently commented on Stony Brook running backs Miguel Maysonet and Marcus Coker.
“Both backs played well in Stony Brook’s 20-10 win over Villanova on Saturday, combining for 267 yards and two touchdowns on 54 carries in a game in which Stony Brook was without its starting quarterback.

Maysonet, who currently ranks second in the FCS [Football Championship Subdivision] in rushing, has emerged as one of the top small-school prospects in the 2013 class, and should hear his name called on Day 3 of next April’s draft. Coker is an underclassman and is likely to return as Stony Brook’s bell-cow back next season (as a sophomore for Iowa last season, he rushed for 1,384 yards and 15 TDs). He has the size, vision, burst and power to contribute in the NFL. Whether he can stay out of trouble and dominate the small-school level of competition will be very important to his 2014 draft stock.”
