Thursday, April 15
A unique blend of spoken word poetry, song, theater, South Asian dance, hip hop, house, and aerial circus dance form—“Corde Lisse” or Wounds Unkissed, speaks to the survival of the spirit. From a young girl’s humorous dilemma between sexy thoughts and bedtime prayers to the heart wrenching stories of the ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka to an immigrant mother coming to terms with her daughter’s queer sexuality—YaliniDream’s vigorous performance brings laughter and tears. She is joined by musicians Ganessa James (guitar/bass) and Chesney Snow (beatbox).
The performance takes place on Thursday, April 15, at 7:00 pm at the Wang Center Theatre. An interactive discussion with the artists will follow the show.
