The University Orchestra will present a concert on Tuesday, November 13, on Staller Center’s Main Stage at 7:30 pm featuring Glazunov March on a Russian Theme; Warlock Capriol Suite for strings and Dvorak Symphony No. 9 in E minor “New World.” Concert soloists are the first place winners of the 2018 Stony Brook University Undergraduate Concerto Competition — violist Stefano Piscitelli, who will perform Bloch’s Suite Hébraïque for viola and orchestra, and flutist Jooyeong Hwangbo, who will perform Ibert’s Concerto for flute and orchestra.
The University Orchestra is a 70-member ensemble of undergraduate students from Stony Brook University. Conductor Susan Deaver has led orchestras in the United States, Europe and Asia and is a member of the music faculty at Stony Brook.
Tickets are $10 and $5 (students and seniors) and are on sale at the Staller Center Box Office (631) 632-ARTS.
