The Sunday Street Acoustic Series at the University Café welcomes back the young cutting-edge alt-folk duo The Pines, who amazed everyone with an incredible debut performance at the Café in December 2007.
David Huckfelt and Benson Ramsey demonstrate unique songwriting and musicianship, mixing old folk and blues styles with hip indie-rock and Americana sounds to create a distinctive musical voice. Their new album, TREMOLO, features poetic originals as well as innovative covers of songs from Spider John Koerner and Mississippi John Hurt.
On guitars, keyboards, and vocals in their concert performances, The Pines have carved out an identity as a unique duo. They have been heralded as a powerful young force in American roots music.
The show is at 2:00 pm on December 13. Advance sale tickets are available at www.universitycafe.org for $15 until December 10, with no service charge. Tickets at the door (if available) are $20. For more information, e-mail SundayStreetWUSB@aol.com or call 632-1093.
