Staller Center opens the season on Saturday, October 8, with The Havana Cuba All-Stars bringing an all-acoustic concert to the Main Stage at 8 pm. The 12-person band draws its inspiration from traditional Cuban Son, a style of music and song that originated on the island and is the root of salsa music.

In their show “Cuban Nights,” The Havana Cuba All-Stars bring their fresh sound to a musical legacy. The All-Star band maintains the songs of the rich culture of the Cuban people and also plays original songs from albums Cuban Soul, Destinos and Junio Groove. Congas, steel guitar, bass, Spanish guitar, violin, trombone and tres (a Cuban three-stringed guitar) are among the instruments accompanied by vocals.

Tickets for The Havana Cuba All-Stars are $38 at stallercenter.com or by calling the box office at (631) 632-ARTS.
