The 19th Annual Stony Brook Film Festival is accepting entries of new independent features, documentaries and shorts for the 10-day festival at Staller Center for the Arts July 17 through July 26, 2014. The Stony Brook Film Festival’s policy of no entry fee for film submissions continues, thanks to its sponsors, HBO, Suffolk County, Teachers Federal Credit Union, the Village Voice and WALK 97.5 Radio.
“The Stony Brook Film Festival’s mix of outstanding new foreign films, premieres of all kinds and shorts paired with features has given the Festival an outstanding reputation,” said Alan Inkles, director of Staller Center and the Stony Brook Film Festival. “Above all, we look for quality filmmaking and story telling. We know we are succeeding because filmmakers return with their films after they’ve been here once, and audience members come back year after year. The large screen, great digital projection and big audiences are our calling card. More than 15,000 patrons fill Staller Center over the ten days, with up to 1,000 people in our theater for a screening.”
All entries must be received by Thursday, May 1, 2014, accompanied by a DVD and entry form. Requirements can be found at www.stonybrookfilmfestival.com.
