The Iranian music group Niyaz blends modern electronica with Persian folk songs, medieval Persian poetry, and Turkish and South Asian Sufi mysticism and musical forms. The word niyaz means “yearning” in both Farsi, the language of Iran, and Urdu, a major language of northern India and Pakistan, a connection Niyaz explores to its fullest.
Niyaz will perform at the Charles B. Wang Center Theatre on Thursday, February 25 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $35 for VIP; $20 for general admission; $15 for seniors; and $10 for students.
