Momix’s “Alchemia” Comes to Staller Center November 1

The dancer-illusionists of Momix will performa in a new work, “Alchemia,” coming to Staller Center’s Main Stage on Saturday, November 1, at 8 pm. “Alchemia” is a dazzling show in which dancer-illusionists perform in a surreal otherworld where earth, water, air and fire – in the form of dancers, music, lighting and props – come together on stage.

The irrepressible choreographer Moses Pendleton (the “Mo” in Momix) has been one of America’s most innovative and widely performed choreographers and directors for more than 40 years. A founding member of the ground-breaking Pilobolus Dance Theater in 1971, he formed his own company, Momix, in 1980. Pendleton has also worked extensively in film, TV and opera and as a choreographer for ballet companies and special events.

Momix is returning to Staller Center after presenting “Botanica” at the 2011 Gala to audience raves. With nothing more than light, shadow, props and the human body, Momix has astonished audiences on five continents for more than 30 years. Enjoy Momix at its most magical.

Tickets for Momix “Alchemia” are $40 at www.stallercenter.com; or call the Staller Center box office at (631) 632-ARTS.
