Work by five graduate students of fine arts will be exhibited in the University Art Gallery in the Staller Center from Tuesday, February 8, through Wednesday, March 2. A reception honoring the artists will be held on Saturday, February 12, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

MFA Thesis Exhibition 2011 includes drawings, prints, photographs, performance art, and mixed media and electronic media installations by Hrönn Axelsdóttir, Nina Melissa Pascal, Luis F. Ramírez Celis, David Weiner, and Moira Williams. All five artists are degree candidates in the Department of Art’s Master of Fine Arts program. The exhibit is accompanied by an eight-page catalogue that includes reproductions of each artist’s work.

The University Art Gallery’s 2010-2011 exhibition schedule is made possible by a generous grant from the Paul W. Zuccaire Foundation. Additional support for the MFA exhibition has been provided by the Friends of Staller Center.

University Art Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and Saturday, 7:00pm to 9:00 pm. Additionally, the gallery will be open one hour before and during the intermission of the following Staller Center performances: Emerson String Quartet, February 10; Cirque Eloize, February 12; Tango Buenos Aires, February 18; Savion Glover, February 27; and Starry Nights, March 2.

Admission is free. For more information, please call the University Art Gallery at (631) 632-7240.
