Lynn Miles photoOne of Canada’s outstanding recording and performing artists, Lynn Miles, returns to The University Café on Sunday, April 25, at 7:00 pm. This Juno Award-winning Ottawa-based singer-songwriter has consistently turned out critically acclaimed albums since her emergence on the music scene in the 1990’s. Miles delivers finely crafted songs with strong, insightful lyrics matched by one of the best voices on the music scene today, all accompanied by a unique guitar-playing style.

With a background in music as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Miles served as a voice teacher at the Ottawa Folklore Center, where one of her students was Alanis Morissette, who Miles taught prior to the making of Morissette’s first album. In a career that has seen her move from Ottawa to Nashville to Los Angeles and back to Ottawa, Miles has released six albums garnering critical praise.

Miles’ most recent album is a two-disc collection of new recordings of her better-known songs. She is currently working on an album of new songs and will be sharing some of these in her Stony Brook appearance.

For $20 advance sale tickets, available until April 21, visit www.universitycafe.org. Tickets at the door are $25.
