Interactive Video “ROLLING POINT” at Zuccaire Gallery in July

Rolling point 1

Rolling Point

Created by dancer Emily Beattie and media artist Eric Gunther, ROLLING POINT is a dynamic video that invites visitors to move and interact with the motions of a dancer projected onto the walls of the Zuccaire Gallery in Staller Center.

Multiple large projections create an immersive environment exploring the resonance between our bodies and the bodies we watch on screen. Through interactive technology, visitors’ movements are linked with the movements of a dancer on film. An electroacoustic soundscape swells as visitors move with the film.

The Zuccaire Gallery will have special extended hours during the Stony Brook Film Festival. The Gallery will be open all ten evenings of the Film Festival from July 20 through July 29. A free performance will take place on Friday, July 28, from 6 pm to 7 pm. Visitors may drop in at any time during the performance to see dancer Emily Beattie interacting with the video projection.

The gallery is located on the first floor of Staller Center; admission is free.
