Faculty Art Exhibit Now on Display

Recent paintings, sculptures, mixed-media installations, and works on paper by 17 current and former faculty and professional staff members in Stony Brook’s Department of Art will be exhibited at the University Art Gallery in the Staller Center from Wednesday, September 15, through Saturday, October 23.

The exhibition, “Faculty Exhibition 2010,” includes paintings by Ruby Jackson, Jason Paradis, Mel Pekarsky, Howardena Pindell, and Chris Semergieff; sculpture by Nobuho Nagasawa; video projects by Stephanie Dinkins and Alan Goodrich; electronic mixed-media installations by Christa Erickson, Takafumi Ide, and Margaret Schedel; and drawings, photographs, prints, collages and works on paper by Toby Buonagurio, Jacques Guilmain, Martin Levine, Andreas Rentsch, Lorena Salcedo-Watson, and Gary Schneider.

A reception honoring the artists will be held on Saturday, October 23, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

University Art Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm and Saturday, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The gallery will also be open for one hour before and during intermission for the following Staller Center performances: Emerson String Quartet on Thursday, October 21, and SF Jazz Collective on Saturday, October 23.
