Cirque Éloize from Montréal, Québec, brings 14 thrilling circus artists expert in 10 circus disciplines to the Staller Center Main Stage on Saturday, February 12, at 8:00 pm and Sunday, February 13, at 4:00 pm. The performers combine contemporary circus arts of extreme sport with rock music, break dance moves, and theater in their show, “ID.”
Cirque Eloize’s director wants the audience to feel placed in a futuristic city, at the cross roads of comic books, science fiction movies, and the rich universe of graffiti. Jeannot Painchaud, the author and director of the show, began his career as an acrobat, juggler, and actor with a specialty in artistic bicycle. Mourad Merzouki, a French hip-hop choreographer from Lyon, France, is the collaborator on “ID.”
“The ultimate charm of the show is the way it hangs together, with energy, anarchy and attitude, from beginning to end, thanks to director Jeannot Painchaud. This is his masterpiece.” The Gazette (Montréal)
