Why I Give to My Alma Mater: Nathaniel Bowles ’16

Profile 300 x 200

As a recent graduate of Stony Brook, I often think about the amazing times I had on campus, the lifelong friends I made and the opportunities I had. Much of the success I have had after graduation has been a direct result of these experiences. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to go to college because it is the most effective way to broaden your horizons.

I want my gift to help students from all over the world come to Stony Brook University to get their education. One of the strengths that Stony Brook had was the diversity in its student body. Getting to meet people from many different backgrounds added a lot of perspective into my education. I want every person who desires to come to Stony Brook a chance to be successful.

Giving to my Alma Mater makes me feel good because I know I am supporting students and amazing programs. I think it also makes me appreciate the sacrifices that my family had to make for me to go to school. I am proud to be an alumnus of Stony Brook and to be in a place where I can give back to the next generation of Seawolves.
