Why I Give to My Alma Mater: Leonard Moss, MD ’80

I appreciate the education I received at Stony Brook, and I’m dedicated to giving back to the generation that is following after me. Where else would I have received the mentorship that I did under the guidance of Dr. Elof Carlson, a distinguished teaching professor, to learn the scientific process? Where else would I have been able to pursue an education in order to become a physician and work one-on-one with such a gentleman? I’m a family man, I’m a physician, I’m a scientist, I have an appreciation for the arts, and I have an appreciation for Stony Brook University. I am so proud to follow the events at Stony Brook and to go back and see the progress that the University has made. It is my honor and privilege to give back, and I urge all of you to consider doing the same. It has made me so happy to be able to give back to the University, and I hope to continue to do so for a long time.
