- Seeking Solutions: For Derek Peterson ’88, there’s no puzzle that can’t be solved. So, when faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, he started looking for a solution, and his company, Soter Technologies, came up with the SymptomSense™ Screening Evaluation Gateway to reduce the threat of mass infection.
- President with a Purpose: This past fall, Milly Peña ’86, PhD ’90, was named president of SUNY Purchase, becoming the first Hispanic woman to lead a SUNY college. And along her journey, she found inspiration from her Stony Brook mentors.
- Advocating for Others: Since 2011, Diana Acosta ’06,’ 07, has advocated for marginalized populations around the world, going far beyond to make sure their human rights are protected and promoted.
