On Wednesday, July 12, more than 140 members of the New York City Alumni Chapter gathered to celebrate the Class of ’17 and welcome the newest members of the alumni community.
Spirits were high as alumni arrived at The Frying Pan, boarding the historic vessel docked at Pier 66 Maritime.
“I’ve never really done anything like this and I’ve always wanted to. It’s an overwhelming experience and I’m really excited about this,” said David Yoo ’00, who was looking forward to connecting with his fellow Seawolves.
With sweeping views of the Hudson River, alumni ranging from Class of ’73 to Class of ’17 had a chance to network and reminisce about their time at Stony Brook.
“The important thing to me about Stony Brook is there are some really powerful communities,” said Justin Seyster ’12, reflecting on his student experience. “[Tonight] is a good reminder of where I came from.”
Congratulations to the Class of 2017!
