With the arrival of the Class of 2022 in August, comes the fifth year of what is fast becoming one of the School of Medicine’s proudest traditions: the Alumni – Stethoscope Drive.

Thanks to the leadership of the School of Medicine Alumni Board and the generosity of School of Medicine alumni, incoming students will receive a surprise at their White Coat Ceremony in August : 3M Littmann Cardiology IV™ Stethoscope. These gifts not only lighten the financial burden for medical students at Stony Brook, but also serve as a tangible reminder that the alumni community is behind them in their journeys to become the best doctors they can be.
Bradley Ashcroft ’21 received his stethoscope at the White Coat Ceremony in August 2017.
“I would like to sincerely thank you for your kind contribution toward purchasing my stethoscope, “ said Bradley Ashcroft ’21 “Beyond the value of a gift, your gesture is very revealing of the core character of committed compassion within our profession at Stony Brook Medicine. It is the central reason why I chose to attend Stony Brook and I look forward to the opportunity to extend my support to others as you have to me.”
Gifts to the annual stethoscope drive will be accepted until July 15. Give today at stonybrook.edu/stethoscopedrive.
Any questions regarding the stethoscope drive can be directed to Mary Hoffmann at (631) 632-4995 or mary.hoffmann@stonybrook.edu.
