Joe Antonelli ’09 Uses Stony Brook Skills to Oversee NYC Criminal Justice Budgets

IMG_29232-225x300Joe Antonelli, Assistant Director of the Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget in NYC, graduated from Stony Brook with a BA in Economics in 2009 before completing an MPA in Criminal Justice Policy and Administration from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

While at Stony Brook, Antonelli served as both Senator and President of the Undergraduate Student Government in successive years, and was Treasurer of the SUNY Student Assembly and intern in the Students Accounts office during his senior year.

As Assistant Director, Antonelli uses the skills he learned at Stony Brook and John Jay College to oversee the budgets of all NYC criminal justice agencies. Antonelli also began volunteering as a firefighter soon after graduating from Stony Brook and was elected 2nd Lieutenant of his fire company in March.
