Why wait for a banner year to celebrate your class reunion?
Four years shy of their 50th Reunion, friends from the class of 1972 recently organized their own informal reunion, eager to reconnect and reminisce on their time at Stony Brook. Organized by Howard Newman ’72, 18 alumni traveled from across the country to enjoy a tour of campus, a Seawolves Football game, and of course, each other’s company.
The tour, courtesy of past Alumni Board President Robert Stafford ’72 and current board member Robert Cuccaro ’96 ’18, had a focus on Tabler Quad, a special place to the alumni who had met there 46 years ago.

We actually met 50 years ago and that was the hook for the event
Nice story
I will share it wit the guys
Wish I had known, Howard, would have joined. I was one of your Tabler floor freshman colleagues in fun and crime. Living now in retirement at the Jersey shore
So who was there? Anyone who was in the English Dept.? Or who lived in H Quad? I’m from the class of ’72 myself.
We were all members of a freshman hall. We met one another in Learned Hand (T-1) in Sept. ’68, 50 years ago. Tabler quad was brand new then. We (44 of us) were fortunate to be among Tabler quad’s first residents. Mitch, you were off the grid. You missed a good get together 9/22/18 at SB. Rich McNally SB’72
