Sreenivasan, a leading expert on digital innovation and resilience, will deliver the inaugural Marshall R. Loeb Lecture with a talk, “What Comes Next? Lessons on Digital Innovation Six Months into the Pandemic.” He will offer advice for people in every industry as he presents a hopeful, helpful look at what we’ve learned about journalism, digital media and communications — and where we go from here.

The event, which will be streamed live starting at noon, honors Marshall R. Loeb, whom the New York Times considered “one of the most visible and influential editors in the magazine industry.” Attendees are encouraged to register here

The School of Journalism will host two other My Life As events this fall. The first will be on October 21 by Michael D’Antonio, on-air CNN commentator, presidential biographer and author of High Crimes: The Corruption, Impunity, and Impeachment of Donald Trump. The second will be on November 18. That lecture, which is also the annual Marie Colvin Memorial Lecture, will feature New York Times international climate reporter Somini Sengupta.

All events will be streamed live to the School of Journalism’s Youtube, Facebook and Twitter pages, but guests are encouraged to register for the events.

Since 2006, the School of Journalism has welcomed more than 80 of the biggest names in journalism and media to speak to Stony Brook University students and community members as part of the My Life As Speaker Series. The lecture series is free and open to members of the public.
